Among other protest in Turkey and Brazil, the one in my country is almost unnoticed. I was about to write about some movies I recently watch but that will happen a bit later.
So, the things in Bulgaria didn't seem very optimistic last week. The ex-prime minister's party won the election but couldn't form a government and then the socialists' party helped by the ethnic Turkish party and the very mean move from the nationalist party offered an office that hopefully would not govern the country for too long. I have no excuses for the former government and the things it did but this one is outrageous. They have very close connection with the Russians who on the other hand live under dictatorship and support other dictators in an effort to increase their own influence. Bulgaria, being a Troyan horse of Russia in the European union, can not cut all this poisonous links and Bulgarians are now on the edge for beginning again the nuclear project for a second nuclear plant built by the Russians (enslaving project considering the overproduction of electricity and the extremely high price); the minister of the foreign affairs invited again some of the former employees of the security services of the communist regime to work for the government; made changes in the law concerning the national security agency by lowering the requirements for the secret clearance access and the requirements for appointing the head of this power structure.
The shady figure in question is this dirty pig:

Delyan Peevsky, who is a media tycoon, has been a deputy minister in the so called government of the Triple coalition (2005-2009 - then only in his late twenties) and being fired as such but later restored after a quite suspicious decision of the court. He also has connections with other shady businessmen like Ilia Pavlov shot a few years ago and the CCB of Cvetan Vassilev with strong connections and backing by the Russian Foreign Trade bank.
After his appointment as a chief of the NSA most of the normal people got organized via social networks and started a protest the same day on the streets of the capital Sofia and some other towns. People were about 10 000 and most of them were young, seemingly from the middle class, with children on their shoulders and pets. They differ from the protesters from the previous protests from February which forced the other criminal prime minister to resign. Then their demands were very inhomogenous like nationalization, change the political system whatever that means, major elections, change of the Constitution, people's court and other nonsense, overthrowing the monopolies (and no one mentioning the Russian monopoly in the gas and oil supply). The informal reason for the protests were the inability of the people to pay their electricity bills.
Now, the protests are spontaneous and the reason is the impudent behaviour of the government for concentrating a lot of power in one man's hands. People from the streets this time can pay their bills, they are more intelligent, good earners and the protest is very peaceful and they try to avoid provocations. And that is my hope that there will be new elections, the socialist won't be allowed to form a government again, the political right will have their representatives in the Parliament and maybe the thing will get better in Bulgaria.
I hope but we need persistence and a lot of work in order to have success and I am such a skeptic by now that only will believe it when I see it.
Still, I support the protest and wish the outcome is a good one. how can you not support these guys:
Or these guys who put bottles of water in front of the policemen so they don't suffer from the heat:
